Careers

Enterprise scale.Small-teamownership.

Big Leap is a small senior team doing enterprise-scale work. No bench, no bureaucracy, no ticket queues. You get hard problems, direct access to the people who own them, and the expectation that you finish what you start.

Working Here

What it's actually like.

(01)

Senior by default

You will work with people who have shipped for years, in rooms where your judgment is expected. We hire for ownership, and we pay attention to how you think, not just what you know.

(02)

Big problems, small teams

The work is large: regulated industries, platforms with a billion users, systems that cannot go down. The team around you is small enough that your work ships and your name is on it.

(03)

Direct client access

You will talk to the VP who owns the problem, not to a summary of the problem. That kind of exposure grows careers faster than any course.

(04)

Remote-first, on purpose

We work remotely with US-aligned hours, few meetings, and written communication that respects deep work. Travel happens when it matters, not by default.

Our Values

The standard you'll be held to.

(01)

We build what matters

by creating products and systems that solve real problems and drive meaningful business outcomes.

(02)

We create momentum through clarity

by simplifying complexity and helping teams move forward with confidence.

(03)

We finish what we start

by turning promising ideas into durable systems that are ready for real-world use.

(04)

We earn trust through delivery

by doing what we say, communicating clearly, and building work that lasts.

Open Roles

Three seats. High bar.

(01)

Senior Full-Stack Engineer

Remote (US-aligned time zones) · Full-time

Own features and systems end to end across client engagements, from discovery workshops to production hardening in regulated environments.

What you'll do

  • Design, build, and ship production software across React and Next.js frontends and Node.js or Python services
  • Work embedded with client engineering teams, inside their tools, rituals, and review standards
  • Hold our security bar: reviewed code, scanned dependencies, documented decisions
  • Help shape scope and estimates during discovery, then deliver against them

What you'll bring

  • 7+ years shipping production software, with deep TypeScript experience
  • Fluency across the stack: data modeling, APIs, frontend architecture, deployment
  • Experience in regulated, high-scale, or otherwise demanding environments
  • Clear, direct written and spoken communication with clients and teammates

(02)

AI/ML Engineer

Remote (US-aligned time zones) · Full-time

Build applied AI systems that pass enterprise review: agents, retrieval pipelines, and evaluation harnesses that hold up in production and in audit.

What you'll do

  • Design and ship LLM systems: retrieval, agents, tool use, and guardrails
  • Build the data pipelines and evaluation harnesses that make AI behavior measurable
  • Turn compliance and security constraints into system design from day one
  • Advise clients on where AI creates real value and where it does not

What you'll bring

  • Production experience with LLM systems or applied ML, beyond demos and notebooks
  • Strong Python and data engineering fundamentals
  • Working knowledge of evaluation, monitoring, and failure modes in AI systems
  • The ability to explain model behavior to non-technical and compliance stakeholders

(03)

Engagement / Delivery Lead

Remote (US-aligned time zones) · Full-time

Run discovery, scope, and delivery across a small portfolio of enterprise engagements. You are the person clients trust when the work gets hard.

What you'll do

  • Lead discovery engagements: stakeholder interviews, system maps, risk registers, costed plans
  • Own delivery across two to three concurrent engagements: scope, schedule, risk, and communication
  • Be the senior voice in the room for VPs of Engineering, product leaders, and compliance teams
  • Protect the team's focus and the client's outcome at the same time

What you'll bring

  • 8+ years delivering custom software in consulting, agency, or professional services
  • Enough technical depth to challenge an estimate and read an architecture diagram critically
  • A track record with enterprise stakeholders. Regulated industry experience is a strong plus.
  • Calm, precise communication, especially when the answer is unwelcome
